We’ve both kind of moved out of the Hetalia fandom, sadly! It was really fun while it lasted and I don’t doubt that one day in a few years we’ll come back but in the meantime we have so many projects on our hands we don’t have time to keep this up.
I don’t know about the other mod, but I’m happy to answer questions about our opinions on certain characters or headcanons and to post submissions that people send in.
i admire you for sending an ask when this blog’s been dead for a year
i love both headcanons and personally hc them both. i think that they create an interesting dynamic to both of their characters in different ways.
i believe that austria would have been jewish for a while, but kept it to himself and close friends (nations should never reveal too much about themselves to the public after all). it wasnt a big deal at first; he simply found that more of the ideals lined up to his personal views than christianity. he admired the idea to question everything within your own religion and not to take things for granted just because they’re what have been told. i feel that he would definitely struggle a bit with some aspects of it. other than the obvious historical events, his country’s cuisine relies heavily on foods he cant eat! but hey, he always has cake
on the other hand, i feel like poland was strongly catholic for as long as he can remember. he finds solace in having a religion to model his life around. he likes having a reason and order to things. it just makes sense. his country fought hard to spread catholicism around europe, and by god did he stand behind it. in more modern times, religion became less of a loud presence in the conscious mind and he took some time to reflect. this religion which brought him so much peace had caused so much pain and suffering towards others and justified it as the right thing to do. he couldn’t put his faith in a religion that could do such things, but couldnt accept the void in his life of no religion at all. after talking with other nations abt their experiences and views, he found a sense of community with judaism
Canada still plays pokemon go. Usually by himself but sometimes, Japan or Cuba will join him.
Iceland and Hong Kong often stay up talking for all hours of the night. Their longest call record is 19 hours straight.
America once drank so many slushies that his tongue was green for a week.
Prussia still plays neopets.
Norway likes to sneak up on his fellow nordics and scare them. Finland is especially entertaining to watch.
Wales has several walls of shelves filled with kitchsy dragon figurines that he’s collected from various giftshops over the years. They all have names and personalities.
Lichtenstein has a pet hedgehog named ‘Switzy’. Somehow, Switzerland hasn’t clued on that it’s named after him.
Finland loves to sing embarrassing iconic songs from other countries and will sing them at world meetings to try and get the respective nations to sing along. Australia always joins in, no matter the song.
